Senior Software & AI Engineer · Software Department Manager

Ten years building systems that have to hold up under load — high-concurrency Go services, LLM and RAG pipelines, and full-stack architectures. Alongside that, published research on adversarial robustness in Arabic NLP and on making Python fast without leaving Python.

Evaluating the Effect of Data Poisoning via Label Flipping on Traditional and Deep Learning Models for Arabic Offensive Text Detection

Najia Ben Saud, Khalil E. A. Abdulgawad, Mahmud Mansour, Ahmed Redha Mahlous, Ahmad Taher Azar

How far can an attacker degrade an Arabic offensive-text classifier just by flipping training labels? The study runs Logistic Regression, Random Forest, SVM, Naive Bayes, a neural network and BERT through progressively higher noise levels on both balanced and unbalanced datasets, reporting accuracy, Macro F1, precision, recall, ROC-AUC and PR-AUC at each step — isolating which models degrade gracefully and which collapse.

Sema: Embedding Go in Python for High-Performance Computing

Khalil E. A. Abdulgawad, Mahnoor Syeda

Python is where the science gets written, and it is an order of magnitude too slow for the loop at the centre of it. Sema is a hybrid interpreter that lets you write Go blocks directly inside a .py file. It extracts each block, infers Go types from the surrounding Python, compiles every block into one binary, and keeps that binary alive as a daemon — so the only thing you install is Python and Go.

Investigating the Impact of Noise Injection on BERT for Offensive Arabic Text Detection

Khalil E. A. Abdulgawad, Najia Ben Saud

The same question from the other side: rather than flipping labels, inject noise into the training signal and watch how a transformer responds. A companion study to the IEEE Access work, focused on BERT and offensive Arabic text.

Sema, in three dimensions

The step that is hard to draw flat is the lift: a Go block leaves the Python source, becomes a compiled binary, and its result comes back as a native Python value. Drag to orbit — and click the code on the top slab to read it as a page.
